This was a multi-sport event, starting from the Johnson Pass trailhead. We ran along the Johnson Pass Trail to Center Creek, then we packrafted to the Center Creek/Bench Creek confluence,then hiked up the 4451 peak, then packrafted down to the 6-Mile raf

Getting into my boat at the Center Creek bridge. Sure, we could have just bushwhacked from the trailhead to Lynx Creek and cut a few hours off our trip. But give me a choice between bushwhacking and packrafting, and I'll be floating downstream everytime

The water was pretty flat the whole way, but there were quite a few sweepers and strainers, some across the whole river, so we had to be careful.

Here's the peak we climbed - the one on the right. We headed straight up the valley and then turned to the right and went straight up the green slope without much snow on it.

The upper valley was beautiful - open tundra, just starting to green-up.

The hike to the summit was pretty steep. Once on top, we found a really old cairn. Lots of lichen on and between the rocks. Must have been built ages ago by the miners.

The road in the background is the Seward Highway, going through Turnagain Pass. It was strange to be so close to the highway, but feel so far away.
