The Knik Glacier has always intrigued me. It is huge and it is very close to Anchorage, but it only seems to be a popular destination for the ATV/4x4 crowd. On Oct 22, Tim Kelley and I decided to do a run/packraft trip to the terminus of Knik glacier and back. The motorized users rule the north side of the Knik River valley, so we decided to go out the Knik River Road on the south side and head upstream from there. I'm not sure about land ownership in that area, so I'm not going to show you our route, but here is a map of the general area.
