The crust was rock-solid and there was plenty of snow and I knew exactly where I wanted to go: Spencer Glacier. I had been up here a couple of years ago, but on that day the crust was softening quickly, so we didn't stay long. Today I wanted to explore

It took about an hour of fairly easy skiing to reach the glacier. I was lucky that most of the snow bridges were still intact. The trip can be a lot longer if you have to deal with a lot of creek crossings.

They say that these bergs can flip over, even when lodged in the ice. But since I saw plenty of snowmobile tracks on them, I decided it was okay for a quick photo.
