Safely at the bottom, Tim paddles back out to the boat. We made good time on the way down, which is good because we needed to get back to Whittier in time to get through the tunnel before it closed at 11:00. But we had enough time for a quick dip in the water of Prince William Sound (water temperature 58 degrees) before leaving. Total hiking time was about 8 and a half hours and we traveled 11 miles.
