Cory's Photo Gallery Summer 2004 Hiking In Kachemak Bay State Park Homer_glacier_trail.jpg

We set up camp on the beach (yellow diamond) and then set off on a hike on the Grewingk Glacier trail. The trail is in red on the map. This trail was probably my least favorite hike in Alaska so far. Look at the elevation profile on the map - it is completely flat except for one steep up and down. The trail was boring and the glacier at the end was a little underwhelming compared to some other glaciers we've seen. Not worth the 6 hour round trip. I'm still a little bitter that we chose that trail (can you tell?).
