A picture showing where Homer is in relation to Anchorage. Our plan was to take a water taxi across Kachemak Bay to Kachemak Bay State Park (see yellow diamond on map) and do some hiking. I had hoped to head across the bay to the small village of Seldovia on Friday evening, then continue on to the state park on Saturday, but there is no way to get from Seldovia to the park without coming back to Homer. And since we didn't want to pay for two trips across the bay, we had to forget about Seldovia on this trip.
