After two weeks of beautiful weather, the clouds finally started to roll back in while we were running. This is my attempt at an artistic shot of Scott running into the mist.

If you look closely, you will see a grizzly in the middle of this picture. He was rumbling across the hillside, looking in the bushes for something to eat.

Sorry these pictures of the bear are so far away, but I didn't really feel like running up and asking him to pose. We got within about 1/4 mile of him, which was close enough. We don't know if he ever saw us. If he did, he never gave us a second glanc

We stopped for a dip in Long Lake. Here Scott takes the first plunge. You didn't want to linger in the water, but it wqasn't too cold - we both jumped in twice.

The initial shock was cold, but at this point Scott is starting to feel cool and refreshed.

This is a beautiful run, with lots of mountain peaks, alpine lakes, and open tundra.

We even saw a few sheep hanging out near Long Lake.
