This shot shows the distinct line between the glacier and the moraine. The moraine is mostly ice, but it is covered with a couple feet of rocks which have been carried down the mountain by the glacier. It was extremely tough to walk on the moraine because it is all up and down large rock piles that are constantly melting and re-shaping.
