This is how you get around in rural Alaska. The 'locals' were always stopping by the lodge to socialize while their kids played out on the skating rink (cleared on the lake) or the sledding hill. Most of these people don't live here year-round, they live in Anchorage and have a small cabin on the lake. No running water for most of them, electricity by generator only.
