[Click map to make it bigger] I had big ambitions for our Saturday ski. I wanted to make it across Lake Louise, Lake Susitna, and Lake Tyone. The red line is our route. Linda and I skied together across Louise, then split up on the far side of the big island on Lake Susitna. I skied north to Lake Tyone, while she rounded the island. My trip was cut short when I got to Lake Tyone - it was covered in deeper, softer snow with overflow water underneath it. I was forced to turn around rather than make it all the way to Tyone Village. Linda and I regrouped at the south end of Lake Susitna and skied back to the Lodge. 35 Km (!) for her, 48K for me. And all pancake flat.
