Skating towards Skookum Glacier. It was a little late in the crust season to be doing this ski. There were a lot of open streams that probably weren't there a week or two ago. Searching for crossings made the ski longer, but still fun.

Taz admires Spencer Glacer. Here we were hoping to explore the icebergs in the lake in front of the glacier, but the snow was already getting soft, so we didn't go any further.

Most of the Placer River Valley is like this: wide and flat.

Looking back up the valley from the train tracks. The Alaska Railroad bisects the valley. This late in the season we had to stay on the east side of the tracks, but earlier there is good skiing on the west side too.
