Near the top, after a mile or two of slow bushwhacking, we came across this machine and another section of freshly-dug trail. We were tempted to fire the beast up and finish the job. But its a good thing we didn't because a minute later we ran into the four guys who were building the trail. They said that the trail would eventually go all the way from Winner Creek, up and over the ridge and down towards 20 Mile. They also expect to have it done in less than 3 weeks. Man, that will make this trip much quicker and more accessible. The sport of packrafting is going to explode!
